Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Duskora collects, why, and what rights you have. Duskora is operated from the Netherlands and follows the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect

Account data: your username, email address and a securely hashed password. Game data: your colony, crew, messages in chat and on the forum, and your progress. Technical data: IP address and browser information in server logs, kept briefly to keep the service secure and to fix errors. Purchases: if you buy something in the shop, the payment is handled by PayPal; we receive a confirmation, not your payment details.

Why we use it

To provide the game and your account (performance of a contract), to keep the service safe and prevent abuse (legitimate interest), to meet legal obligations such as bookkeeping for purchases, and — only with your consent where the law requires it — to show advertising.

Cookies and local storage

We use one necessary cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser’s local storage to remember choices such as your language. These are needed for the site to work and do not require consent.

On the public pages of this website we may show advertising from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads and, with your consent, to personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites. You are asked for consent through a consent message before such cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time through that message. You can also manage personalised advertising at https://adssettings.google.com and read how Google uses data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. The game itself does not show advertising.

Who receives data

Our hosting provider in the European Union, PayPal for payments, and — for advertising on the public pages — Google and its advertising partners as described above. We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

Account and game data are kept as long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise its data, except where the law requires us to keep records of purchases. Server logs are kept for a short time only.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, object to its use or withdraw consent. Write to us at contact@duskora.org. If you are not satisfied with our answer you may complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Children

Duskora is not intended for children under 13. If you are younger than 16, ask a parent or guardian for permission before you create an account.
